We hope this book has found its way into the right hands: a leader navigating complexity, pressure, and the credibility gap.

If it has, then hopefully it can help you to lead with integrity and clarity. Some of what you do will involve ticking boxes, but we believe that prioritising sustainability can go much further than that... We should know, as scientists and consultants who’ve guided hundreds of organisations in the right direction. 

As people who spend their daily lives in the weeds of sustainability reporting, we thought we would be just the right people to write a book about it (hopefully you agree). It is intended for leaders who’ve had enough of jargon and need to learn what actually works. This book was built in the trenches of real-world sustainability.

This book is not exhaustive; the world of sustainability is huge and ever-expanding. What we have done is curated insight into the key areas that matter the most right now: leadership, regulation, carbon, biodiversity, water, AI, brand, and genetics. We’ve also included a section on what we’ve missed, which, if we had all the time in the world, would be a lot longer.

With contributions from industry leaders, as well as members of the Tunley Environmental team, this book will give you clarity on the bigger picture and insight from leaders who find themselves in the same position as you.
