I am extremely proud and stoked to announce the launch of Tunley Environmental’s new sustainability reporting software, VerdaMetric.
For years, we’ve worked with organisations on carbon accounting, sustainability reporting and environmental strategy, and the one problem comes up again and again is that the data is always very messy.
It lives in spreadsheets, in inboxes, across teams, across sites, across reporting periods, and then someone has to spend a huge amount of time piecing it all together, checking what bits are missing, working out which version is correct and getting it into a format that can actually be used.
We’ve used other sustainability platforms ourselves. Some were effective at certain things, some less so, but none really solved all of the real challenges we were seeing with our clients. So, we decided to build our own!
VerdaMetric is sustainability intelligence software developed to make carbon and sustainability management easier. It brings data, calculations, evidence, reporting activity and future planning together in one structured platform.
It was built on the idea that sustainability software should make the work easier, not create another layer of problems for its users.
With VerdaMetric, organisations can upload and organise existing data, track Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, see what information is complete and what is still missing, maintain clear audit trails, monitor performance over time and use targets, roadmaps and financial insight to help plan what comes next.
I am particularly excited about several features, including the bulk-upload functionality, which allows users to upload documents in a wide range of formats such as PDFs, Excel documents, and written notes; data-completeness tracking, which informs users about any missing information needed to complete data collection; and the ability for users to maintain a record of how sustainability information has been reviewed and changed. These features solve problems we see all the time.
Importantly, VerdaMetric is not just about reporting what happened last year. It is designed to help organisations keep sustainability information organised throughout the year, understand progress and use that information to support future strategy.
Our science team is well-versed in understanding the intricacies of sustainability reporting, and the software was specifically designed to address those complexities. That means it combines intuitive technology with the experience of people who work in carbon accounting, reporting, verification and sustainability strategy every day.
For existing Tunley clients, it provides a way to maintain data and track progress between consultancy projects. It offers continuity for previous clients after completing an assessment or roadmap. For organisations that have never worked with Tunley before, it offers a structured way to manage sustainability internally while still having access to specialist support when needed.
We built VerdaMetric because we genuinely thought there had to be a better way to manage this stuff.
