CRL Case Study

Concrete Repairs Limited (CRL) brings over six decades of experience in innovative engineering solutions. Their work spans across multiple sectors offering a complete service from the initial survey, through to refurbishment and on-going maintenance management. Their experience and partnerships allows them to provide an efficient and quality service to their clients, working within their operational constraints to achieve business objectives.

The partnership between Tunley Environmental and CRL came to fruition when they were looking to quantify and reduce their company-wide emissions and through the creation of a roadmap, how they could achieve net zero carbon by their goal of 2045.

PhD-Level Scientist, Dr Gareth Davies quantified their emissions data through conducting a Carbon Reduction Assessment of CRL’s emissions. From their initial baseline year and re-audit year, they achieved a reduction of 19% from Scopes 1 and 2, this was from introducing diesel HVO and substituted regular diesel. Despite an over 100% increase in site fuels. CRL are currently emitting 7,732 tCO2e annually, across all 3 Scopes. Working closely with CRL, we were able to develop a roadmap to net zero which aligned with science-based targets initiative, and with this CRL are able to reduce their company-wide emissions by 49% and become net zero by 2045.

Tunley would like to thank Concrete Repairs Limited for taking part in this case study, it was another successful outcome for all involved. We hope to support them further on their sustainability journey.
