MARATHON OF A CEO

In 2025, our CEO, Will, is embarking on a remarkable journey - the Marathon of a CEO. Each week Will will run a marathon, covering a total of 2,184km over the course of the year! It's more than a personal challenge; it's a testament to resilience, leadership, and the power of giving back.

One CEO. One Year. 52 Marathons. Endless Impact.

RUNNING WITH PURPOSE

Some of you may ask, why is Will doing this? Will believes that challenges - no matter how tough - shape us into better leaders and individuals. His inspiration comes from not only his love for running but also from the invaluable lessons he's learned about focus, drive, and resilience.

"Not all difficulties are negative. Trials and tribulations can be the making of us. Pushing through pain has helped me enhance my focus and drive, both as a leader and as an individual." - William Beer

Last year, Will ran 1,727 km, surpassing his original goal of 30 km per week. This year, he's taking it a step further, committing to a marathon every week - proving that even in discomfort, growth happens.

TRACK WILLS PROGRESS

Will is already off to a flying start! In the first week of 2025, he ran 84 km, pushing through sore knees, shin splints, and back pain. He's proving that perseverance and purpose go hand-in-hand.

"This challenge isn't just about running. It's about finding strength in adversity and inspiring others to do the same."

RUNNING FOR A GREATER CAUSE

The Marathon of a CEO isn't just about miles run or records broken; it's about making a difference. All fund raised through this challenge will be donated to PASIC, a charity close to Will's heart and one Tunley has proudly supported in previous years.

PASIC provides emotional, practical, and social support to families of children and young people living with cancer. By joining or supporting Will's journey, you're contributing to a cause that helps families navigate one of the toughest challenges of their lives.

TECH SUPPORTING THE MARATHON

Garmin, the leading GPS and wearable tech brand has loaned Will the latest Forerunner 970 smartwatch to help him track, optimise and endure the remaining 31 marathons of his year-long campaign.

“The pace data is mint, and the built-in maps will be a lifesaver on my upcoming 55-mile unsupported run,” Will shared. “Apparently, I have ‘excellent’ VO₂ Max, whatever that means, but I’m mostly impressed that it survived a 4am marathon off four hours of sleep... with a recovery estimate of 91 hours!”

Since starting the 52 marathons, Will has worn the Trailfly Running Shoes by INOV8, a innovative sports brand supplying performance footwear. Whilst tracking and monitoring the shoes performance throughout the marathons, Will is set to be joined by some of the team at INOV8 on an upcoming marathon in the Lake District.
