ABOUT SWABIIHA

Swabiiha holds a Beng in Chemical Engineering (minor: Environmental Engineering) and is currently a PhD candidate in the field of Materials Engineering. Her doctoral research work investigates the potential of brown seaweed and plant fibres (derived from agricultural waste) as renewable raw materials for sustainable packaging applications. The research focus is mainly to develop alternatives to synthetic plastic packaging products currently being imported into Mauritius.
Joining Tunley Environmental as a Sustainability Scientist, Swabiiha is eager to use her skills to conduct Business Carbon Assessment and Life Cycle Assessment to help businesses and organisations reduce their carbon footprint and achieve their sustainability goals.
On a personal level, Swabiiha has an adventurous spirit and loves discovering new scenic places and cultures. She also enjoys reading self-help books in her spare time and recently took to gardening to start growing as much of her own food as possible.
