WHY ARE THEY TRUSTED
Tunley Environmental performed a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment of the Appenate mobile app platform, following the lifecycle assessment methodology outlined in BS EN ISO 14067:2018 and aligned with international standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044. The study compared the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with using Appenate’s digital platform versus traditional A4 printed paper forms.
Focusing on the use and end-of-life phases, the assessment revealed that Appenate’s digital solution generates just 52.3 tonnes of CO₂e, compared to 376.5 tonnes of CO₂e from the paper-based approach. This demonstrates a 7.2-fold reduction in emissions when switching to a digital process. The significant environmental advantage is largely due to the elimination of paper production and printing processes, both of which are resource, and energy-intensive. In contrast, Appenate’s emissions are limited to device usage and network data transmission.
