ABOUT ANNAËLLE
Annaëlle Hip Kam is a Sustainability Scientist at Tunley Environmental. She holds an MSc. in Nutritional Sciences and is currently completing her PhD, with a thesis titled "Effect of domestic processing on the cancer chemopreventive actions of locally grown foods using proteomics." Her research investigates how traditional cooking methods impact the bioactive properties of indigenous foods, providing insights into enhancing the health benefits of traditional diets. By assessing key pathways related to cell death, oxidative stress, and proliferation, her work contributes to the development of dietary strategies and functional foods aimed at cancer prevention.
As a dedicated advocate for science, Annaëlle co-founded Nurture Science, an NGO that sparks curiosity in children through hands-on activities. She is also actively involved in community programs, promoting nutritional awareness and improving health outcomes, particularly in vulnerable communities.
Driven by a passion for bridging science and sustainability, Annaëlle is committed to helping businesses and organisations transition to greener practices, reduce carbon footprints, and implement long-term environmental solutions. Her role at Tunley Environmental is guided by a deep commitment to nature conservation and evidence-based strategies that tackle pressing environmental challenges.
Annaëlle is a lifelong learner who eagerly seeks out opportunities to expand her knowledge. In her free time, she enjoys spending time at the beach, swimming, and hiking.
